Snowbirds for Christmas
The holiday season is not far from the minds of the Quick As A Wink Theatre troupe. Their Christmas production of Snowbirds, a play by Darcy Rhyno, begins November 27.
Snowbirds tells the heart warming and extremely humorous tale of a Maritime family during the holidays. Witty and familiar, the characters created by the Nova Scotia playwright remind us what is most important during this special time of year - family and friends.
It’s Christmas Eve and Nova Scotia’s Park family is spread out all over the world. Enjoying retirement, Bob is in his glory: Florida - no snow, no shoveling, and better yet, no picking out a Christmas tree. All he has to do is relax and work on his golf game. That is, if wife Martha will let him.
She is worried about her Christmas list and whether everyone will get the gifts she sent. Will son Donald get his vitamins? What about her sister Wendy in Europe? Not to mention Grandpa in the nursing home. However, with a little help from a very special delivery person, Martha need not worry.
Snowbirds continues December 4 and 5 at 7:30 p.m at the Kingsway Gardens function room, Wentworth Rd, Windsor. Tickets $12 adults and $10 children.
