Before the gates even open at the Exhibition Arena Can-Am Equine Extravaganza performers have stolen the show. They were special guests at the Windsor Home Hardware's annual Garden Party May 29.

Members of the Canadian Cowgirls saddled up, along with clinician/performer Kevin Crane, barrel racer Heidi Dawson and, the belle of the ball, Laura Amandis, to ride down Wentworth Rd, arrive at the Windsor Mall with true Can-Am flair. It was a spectacular sight and a great way to kick off the town’s participation in the 76th annual Apple Blossom Festival.

Spectators at the mall were treated to a sampling of the upcoming Can-Am event. Everyone was welcomed to meet the performers and horses. Even the most timid toddler had the chance to reach up and pet the well-behaved animals.

The Garden Party raised funds for the Haliburton Place and the Hants Historical Society.
