Let me add to your report on this years Summer Fest. I must be confused as to what I am reading and what I saw. You must have receive your info via a phone of instant message. The parade was very disappointing as there was parts that where completely left out, no Bagpipes for one among other stuff. The hands-on reptile adventure show was another disappointment. If you where unlucky enough to be under 6 feet and 4 rolls back you not only missed the show you could not hear it in the cramped corner they where in. The previous years saw the Windsor Fire Department setup and making burgers for those few that attended. This year they where a no show. One food vendor for the better part of the weekend and they ran out of food early. Where did the ice cream truck and cotton candy go all weekend? What about the rides advertised for the kids? I could go on but will not. Anyone you talk to that attended and you take the time to talk to will no tell you the same thing. The Festival is failing and one main reason is the name change from Sam Slicks to Summer Fest. Well if I where a reporter for this paper I would check my source before reporting and maybe attend the event and see what the people see. Be honest and you will get more readers. One last comment, The whole event seem to be swinging towards the big beer tent that drew large crowds over the weekend. You could see that because prices where raised most opted to go to the local bars like any other weekend in Windsor.
