Equity Home Builders Ltd. received a safety commitment award from vice-chair Laurie Alders, of the Western Nova Scotia Chapter of the Canadian Society of Safety Engineering, on June 17.

This is a new award program recently introduced by the Western Nova Scotia C.S.S.E. Chapter. The award is designed to recognize individuals and organizations, in the western Nova Scotia region, demonstrating a history of safe work practices and a special commitment to health and safety initiatives.

Owner Wayne Myles, of Equity Home Builders Ltd., started his business in 2002. He has three employees and sometimes works with his father, Ernest Myles, who operates Ernest Myles Construction, which he started in 1977.

Equity Home Builders Ltd. is involved in a variety of home building tasks – roofing, concrete work, excavating, and complete home construction based in the Hantsport area.
