The Municipality of East Hants has selected a new chief administrative officer.

Connie Nolan has been appointed to replace retiring Ian Glasgow.

The process to replace the CAO began earlier this year after Glasgow announced his pending retirement and submitted a report on succession planning for the municipality for council’s consideration.

To provide for a smooth transition, Nolan was appointed deputy CAO on July 1 and assumes the full management reins of the municipality on Jan. 7.

Nolan, a chartered accountant and certified fraud examiner, has been with the Municipality of East Hants for 24 years as the director of finance.

Glasgow has provided leadership as CAO for 18 years.
