West Hants councillor Rick Gaudet, representing District 8, announced on nomination day that he was withdrawing from the upcoming municipal election race.

In a brief interview Sept. 11, Gaudet said he wanted to thank the Falmouth-Mount Denson residents for their past support.

“I respect my community greatly,” said Gaudet. “I appreciate living in the community I live in and will continue living here in this community, but, for reasons at this time that I will not speak about, I am not running.”

By noon on Sept. 11, there were still two other people running for District 8: Randy Hussey and Mike Campbell.
