Junior students at King’s-Edgehill School put on the twisted fairy tale Into the Woods March 2-3 at the Fountain Performing Arts Centre.

James Lapine and Stephen Sondheim created this lively, fractured fairy tale that tells a lesson about community responsibility and lying.

The play featured the talents of Andrew Canete (narrator), Emma Belliveau (Cinderella), Michael Dennis (Jack), Orion Leidl Wilson (Baker), Layla Green (Baker’s Wife), Elsa Hodder (Witch), Emma Dufour (Little Red), Madeleine Ahern (Rapunzel), Miranda Walsh (Wolf/Florinda), Matthew Pothier (Cinderella’s Prince), Brayden Graves (Rapunzel’s Prince), Alex Creedon (Jack’s Mother), Daniel Nickerson (Cinderella’s Father), Melissa Bancroft (Cinderella’s Mother), Eleanor Gallant (Cinderella’s Stepmother), Sarah Hickman (Lucinda), Raven Cameron LeBlanc (Mysterious Man), Jenna Seaboyer (Granny), Charlotte Hache (Milky White), Anthony Canete (Steward) and Janis McCulloch (giant). The chorus also consisted of Jessica Bennett, Brenda MacDonald, Annie MacRitchie, Justin Nelson and Vanessa de Graaf.

Behind the scenes helping out were Toven MacLean, director, Nicole Barrett and Debby Chao on piano, Patrick Wu, lights, Caroline Hamilton, set and backdrop design, Karen Jones, stage painting. The stage crew consisted of Katrina Thomas, Emily MacMillan, Ben Jodrey, Adam Murphy and Erin MacMillan.
