It’s a simple idea: Nova Scotians get together with family and friends to eat fresh, local food and aims to connect this good feeling to the benefits of selecting Nova Scotia products.

Prepare for a festive feast when the first IncrEDIBLE Community Picnic of 2010 is held at the Windsor Exhibition grounds August 1 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The afternoon will showcase the best of what Nova Scotian producers and culinary experts have to offer. On the menu: local fruits, vegetables, seafood, meats, cheeses, breads and beverages.

Hosted by Select Nova Scotia- in partnership with the Windsor Agricultural Society and Windsor Farmers’ Market- the August 1 picnic and farmers’ market is part of a province wide initiative celebrating local food and community spirit.

Select Nova Scotia is looking for local producers and chefs to assist in preparing the IncrEDIBLE Picnic.  Registration deadline for participating vendors is Monday July 26
