UPDATE: Fatal accident near Falmouth

Annapolis Valley Traffic Services continues to investigate a single vehicle fatal crash that occurred at 4:37 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 27 in Falmouth, Hants County.

An eastbound pick-up truck lost control on the slushy highway, crossed the road and crashed into a guardrail.

The driver, 45-year-old Diane Bain of Bedford, died at the scene. An 18-year-old male passenger was injured and later transferred to the QEII hospital with undetermined, yet serious injuries.

A Traffic Collision re-constructionist was at the crash scene Saturday. Preliminary investigation suggests poor weather conditions contributed to the crash.
