Valley Traffic Services is investigating a two-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 10:38 a.m. Saturday morning on Highway 101 near St. Croix. Firefighters assisted at the scene. A small eastbound pickup truck crossed the centreline and struck a westbound SUV. The lone 53-year-old Kings County man driving the SUV was pronounced dead at the scene. The lone 51-year-old female driver of the pickup sustained life-threatening injuries and was taken via air ambulance to the QE II in Halifax. Black ice on the overpass is believed to have been the major factor in the crash.
