Three Halifax men were in court in Windsor this morning,

Friday, July 23, as a result of an investigation by members of Kings District RCMP into thefts from five New Minas businesses which occurred Thursday.

Staff Sergeant Rick Daley describes the crimes as 'well organized' and reports the value of goods stolen is estimated at more than $23,000.

David Phillip LeFave (34), Corey James Walker (30), and Troy Douglas

Straight (29), all of Halifax, have been charged with one count of theft

over $5000, four counts of theft under $5000, and one count of

possession of property obtained by crime.  Police have recovered a large

portion of the stolen goods and are continuing their investigation.

All of the thefts occurred during business hours.

Members of the RCMP’s Halifax Metro Traffic Services arrested the trio

during a traffic stop on the 101 Highway in the Lower Sackville

area shortly after 4:00 PM on Thursday, July 22.  Officers from the

Windsor Detachment of the RCMP also assisted in the investigation.
