The Windsor West Hants Summer Fest 2010 made it hard not to find something new, or old, to do in Windsor on Saturday, July 31.

From Wentworth Road to Water Street, the grand parade line-up had sidewalks packed, and spectators smiling.

The festivities continued on the waterfront with an educational, hands-on reptile adventure show hosted by Lindsay Giles and Mike MacDonald of Maritime Reptile Adventures. Giles and MacDonald gave two presentations on how to properly handle and care for snakes. The reptile enthusiasts let willing spectators touch – or hold - their beloved boa constrictor, Medusa.

For the folks who prefer to learn about snakes from a distance, a performance by Halifax circus director Mike Hirschbach proved to be  entertaining.  Hirschbach’s quirky banter and daring stunts had more than 50 spectators immersed in his 45-minute performance from beginning to end. Hirschbach stuck around after the show to teach some tricks of his trade to 10 audience members.
