Two people have been charged in relation to the robbery at the Windsor Pharmasave which took place Monday, July 27. Candace Burgess, 34 and Michael Flynn, 32 of Ellershouse, Hants County appeared in Kentville Provincial Court Wednesday, July 28, to face charges under the Controlled Drugs/Substances Act, possession for the purpose of trafficking, robbery with other offensive weapons, possession of stolen property and using imitation of a firearm in the commission of an offense. Both were remanded into custody.
Police were called to a robbery in progress just after 9 a.m. Monday, July 27, and had cordoned off a portion of Gerrish Street. The suspects were apprehended later that day. A quantity of prescription drugs was alleged to have been stolen.
Pharmasave owner, Jason Trider said the store was open at the time of the incident. “It' was a shock for sure, we've never had something like this happen before. It's not typical of this area.”
“It was a blessing no one was hurt.”
Staff and the Trider family have been coping well, he said. “They have been offered counselling and have been talking it out amongst themselves.”
