Twenty-four hours after a warrant was issued for his arrest, Nathan Neil Rehberg is back in police custody. According to RCMP spokesperson Cst. Andy Harris, a tearful Rehberg, accompanied by two friends, walked into the Windsor Rural RCMP detachment just after 9:30 a.m. June 10.
Harris said police were not surprised Rehberg chose to turn himself in. “He knew we were looking for him; it was only a matter of time.”
Rehberg was later transported to the Central Nova Correctional facility in Burnside where he will remain in custody until his next court date.
Harris could not say if Rehberg would be held until his trial date in November noting there would likely be a bail hearing at some point. “There will definitely be something court related in the very near future but he will remain in custody until he is taken before a judge.”
