An Onslow, Colchester County man will stand trial next June on several sex-related charges involving an underage boy.

Donald Kevin Huntley, 50, did not attend Windsor Supreme Court Aug. 8 but did have legal representation present.

Huntley’s defence lawyer requested the trial be set for June 2013 as Huntley was expected to return to Nova Scotia from British Columbia at that time.

Judge Gregory Warner expressed concern over the request to delay the trial, but noted that the trial date would be set at the request of the accused’s availability.

The trial by judge alone is set for June 10-12, 2013 at the Kentville courthouse.

Huntley has been charged with accessing child pornography and luring a child for the purpose of sexual touching. These charges stem from incidents alleged to have occurred in Windsor between June 1 and July 14, 2011.

Huntley also faces charges of sexual touching and invitation to sexual touching involving a person under age 16; a charge of attempting to obtain for consideration the sexual services of a person under age 18; and sexual assault. These charges stem from incidents alleged to have occurred in Windsor June 18, 2011 and between May 28 and July 14, 2011.

The details of the allegations, as well as the name of the complainant or any information leading to the complainant’s identity, are protected by a publication ban.
