Danielle Meuse, 15, a Grade 10 student at Avon View High School, is held aloft by teammates as they practice for the  CheerExpo Cheerleading and Dance National Championships to be held March 27-28 in Halifax.

The team, all former West Hants Middle School students, won the competition last year, which was open to all high schools in North America.

Holding her up are Candace Kimball, left, and Kristen Curry. Not seen are Rebecca King and Shanna Butt.
