On November 20, H1N1 vaccine became available for everyone in Nova Scotia. Windsor/West Hants residents can receive theirs at a public clinic November 27.

Generally, the public was very understanding of the reasoning behind targeting those at highest risk first, Capital Health spokesperson John Gillis says.

People are pleased to now be able to receive the vaccination, Gillis says. Although cases of the H1N1 have been reported in decline in Nova Scotia, it is still important to get a shot, Gillis adds. “There is still possibility of (H1N1) resurgence.”

A vaccination clinic is scheduled from 4 to 7:30 p.m. at Windsor Elementary School November 27. Annapolis Valley Health will hold a vaccination clinic November 27 at Hantsport Baptist Church from noon to 4 p.m. (Registration ends at 3:30 p.m.)

The H1N1 assessment clinic at Hants Community Hospital has now closed.

People can also contact 811 with any questions related to H1N1 clinics in their area.

Or, for updated information on local assessment clinics or vaccination clinics to be held visit Capital Health’s website.
