Well-known Falmouth agriculturalist Bev Connell has been elected president of the Windsor Agricultural Society. The new president was elected and assumed his duties at the annual meeting at the Kingsway Gardens in Windsor Tuesday evening, Jan. 15.

Connell will head the Society for the next two years. The non-profit Society owns and operates Exhibition Park, better known as home of the Hants County Exhibition on Wentworth Road. Connell takes over the reins from Danny Dill, who had been president for the past two years.

Dill stated in his annual report that activities at the grounds continue to grow. The exhibition offers a great family event in September. Weather concerns are always a priority with an outdoor event and weather continues to be a problem. Everyone always looks forward to six days of sunny weather. He thanked everyone for their support during the past two years.

Connell thanked the members of the society for their support and confidence in his election and looked forward to working with staff and volunteers for the next two years.

Connell hopes to continue to grow activities during the spring, summer, and fall.

Exhibition Park includes facilities available for many events. These facilities have been used for major equestrian events, trade and consumer shows, meeting rooms, dog shows, RV campouts, play land, truck and tractor pulls etc. The site has hosted 11,000 people during a one-day event. More than 250,000 people attend various events yearly on this site including winter activities at the arena.

Andy Woolaver, Martock, was named vice president.
