A wide range of works by local artists will be on display in Brooklyn until 2013.

The Bread Gallery, located along Hwy 14, was a popular destination on the opening night of the Small Art-Works Show Nov. 15.

The show, which lasts until Dec. 31, features the work of local artists June Brown, Alice Cochrane, Muriel Cross, Shelley Dauphinee, Dora Davis, G. A. Jank, Lorna Jones, Bernice McManus, Ken Spearing, Pauline Sullivan, Jim Tracey, Susan Sweet and Cheryl Rutledge.

Hants County Arts Council president Tacha Reed says about 120 paintings will be showcased, along with metal work and folk art carvings.

“There’s a lot of variety,” she said, during a brief interview at the well-attended opening night.

“All of the artists that are participating in the show have been working as artists for a very, very long time so their skill level is quite high and it’s evident in the work that’s on display.”
