Hants County man killed in vehicle-pedestrian accident

RCMP are on the scene of a fatal accident that occurred along Highway 101 between the exits for Greenwich and New Minas shortly before 3 p.m. Aug. 27.

HALIFAX -  RCMP say a 32-year-old man from the Windsor area was killed last night in a collision near the Clayton Park area of Halifax.

According to a media release from Halifax District RCMP,  a male driver called 911 at 11:23 p.m. Aug. 27 to report  he had struck a pedestrian at the bottom of the northbound on-ramp to Highway 102 at Larry Uteck Drive.

The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the vehicle  was treated at the scene by paramedics and released.

The northbound lanes of Highway 102 were closed at exit 2B until 5:30 a.m. Aug. 28.

Police continue to investigate the accident.
