BERWICK, NS - There’s no question that Berwick’s annual Santa Claus Breakfast was a great way for the young and the young at heart to get into the holiday spirit.
The breakfast, held at the Royal Canadian Legion Ortona Branch 69 on Nov. 24, has been an annual tradition in the Town of Berwick for more than three decades. All proceeds help support the Berwick and District Nursery School.
The breakfast is made possible by a crew of hard working volunteers cooking in the kitchen, serving up the pancakes and sausages and working the door. Of course, the main attraction was the jolly old elf himself, Santa Claus. Dozens of children waited in line for their turn to tell him what they want for Christmas.
The breakfast is among the annual Santa Claus celebrations being held in Berwick to kick-off the holiday season. A Santa Claus parade is being held on Commercial Street this evening, Nov. 24, beginning at 6:30 p.m.
