Plenty of reasons to celebrate for Kings County 4-H members

Kings County 4-H members treated the audience to a delightful day of entertainment and learning during the County 4-H public speaking rally. Demonstrations included instructions to make bags, create sweet treats and care for cuddly rabbits. Speeches inspired the listeners to consider such topics as social media, mental health, farming and future plans.

Vincent Armstrong of Western Kings was selected Champion Junior Speaker, while Cornwallis Project members Hannah King and Adam Rand were chosen Top Introducer and Top Thanker. The winning Intermediate speaker was Jacob Cairns of Eastern Kings. Champion Senior Speaker was Sydney Milne of Western Kings.

Joe Grant of Eastern Kings took top honours in the Junior Single Demonstration category. Junior Team Demonstration winners were Kate Grant and Isabella Cruickshank of Eastern Kings. Emilee Hirtle and Jacob Hirtle of Western Kings were chosen Senior Team Demonstrators.

The Ambassadors Program was another part of the County Rally. Many enthusiastic members competed for the title of Kings County 4-H Ambassador. After speeches and interviews, Nicole Martin of Eastern Kings and Kaylin Saulnier of Horton were selected as Senior Ambassadors. Joe Grant of Eastern Kings and Kaylee Newcombe of Western Kings were chosen as Junior Ambassadors.

County winners have the opportunity to move on to a regional competition in April. Regional winners will represent the Valley at Provincial 4-H Weekend in Bible Hill May 3 and 4.
