Car hit another vehicle twice from behind before fleeing the scene

SOUTH BERWICK – Kings District RCMP is asking for members of the public to help locate a vehicle involved in a hit-and-run in South Berwick.

The RCMP received a call the evening of May 14 from a driver involved in an accident where her car was hit twice from behind by the same car, which then fled the scene.

The driver was traveling with three passengers, and all four were treated roadside and released by EHS team at the scene. Her vehicle also sustained significant damage.

The suspect vehicle is described as a dark coloured sedan, possibly a Mitsubishi Lancer, with obvious damage to its front end and driver’s side. The driver, who has also not been located, is described as a young female with blonde/brown hair who was wearing sunglasses.

RCMP media officer Cpl. Jennifer Clarke confirmed police suspect this was a targeted incident but they are still looking for information.

“This is a very troubling incident. The four people weren’t seriously injured, but it’s terrifying nonetheless,” she said, adding incidents such as these require the community’s help in stopping.

“We have to alarm the people involved and the community – this is probably the time to provide whatever information they have to help us get to the bottom of what caused this. They do need to call us.”

The sedan was last seen driving east on Highway 1. Anyone with information on the suspect car and/or driver is asked to either call Kings District RCMP at 902-679-5555.
