Halifax Regional Police have determined no charges will be laid after a woman was struck and killed by a man driving a transport truck in Halifax in July.

At about 11:10 a.m. on July 22, officers responded to a report of a pedestrian/vehicle collision on Lady Hammond Road and MacKintosh Street, police said in a news release.

The pedestrian, a 63-year-old woman, was struck by a man driving a transport truck that was turning onto Lady Hammond Street from MacKintosh Street. The woman died at the scene.

“Through the investigation, there was no evidence to support laying charges in relation to the fatal collision,” police said in the release.

The truck driver, a 53-year-old Dartmouth man, was given two summary offence tickets for equipment deficiencies.
