LETTER: Council must call a non-confidence vote on themselves

Clearly, any casual observer to the ongoing "activities"' of the current West Hants council would conclude that matters have grown beyond their capacity to control.

Feel passionate about something you read or saw in the Journal? Concerned about a decision of council? Why not get it off your chest and write a letter to the editor.

In essence, they have abdicated their responsibilities by failing to work within the mandate their responsibilities entail.

If ever a time existed to declare non-confidence as it pertains to council activities, surely that time is now.

I implore council to immediately declare via motion of non-confidence that they be dissolved as a council and removed from their duties.

The provincial government’s minister responsible for municipal affairs must appoint an emergency oversight panel to govern in the interim until a new municipal governance structure can be established.

The citizens have spoken and want to move on; safe in the knowledge that a positive resolution can be achieved by removing the impediments to this change.

The name-calling and insults to our dedicated volunteers are shocking and below any measure of standard decency.

The time has arrived for council to be removed.
