Rock’s presence on ESPN’s “College GameDay” moved Deion Sanders to the brink of tears on Saturday.

Dwayne Johnson surprised the Colorado coach before the Buffaloes’ game against Colorado State. After Sanders didn’t expect to see The Rock on set, Johnson cut a wrestling promo for the Pro Football Hall of Fame member, making Sanders emotional in the process.

Look.

“He’s changing the face of college football and he’s doing it his way,” Johnson said. “But he does it in a way — and this is the hard part — that inspires not just a city in Boulder, Colorado, but the entire country.”

Sanders said Johnson was going to make him cry, so he immediately went into recruiting mode.

“All you recruiters, did you hear what he said? We weren’t hard to find,” Sanders laughed on set.

Saturday was the first time ESPN brought its pregame show to Boulder since 1996, and it was Sanders’ presence. Buffalo is 2-0 and the biggest story in college football after wins over TCU and Nebraska to open the season.

Sanders joined the regular “Gameday” crew before Johnson appeared, and the actor and professional wrestler were said to be there.

Colorado is a three-touchdown favorite Saturday night against Colorado State and should be 3-0 in recent school history before the two biggest games to end September. The Buffs play Oregon and USC in the next two weeks as we get a chance to see how well they fare in Sanders’ first season.
