WINDSOR, N.S. – The Christmas Angels charity auction was held a little bit earlier than usual this year, so organizers can focus exclusively on the telethon, which will be held on Dec. 3, 2017.

Roseanna Boyd, president of Hants County Christmas Angels said they’re hoping to raise approximately $2,000 from the auction, with most items being donated from local businesses and sponsors.

“We have 142 items up for auction as well as baked goods and donation table,” Boyd said. “Last year’s auction was downstairs during the telethon, but organizers decided to hold it earlier this year to make things a bit less hectic during the telethon.”

The Super 8 Hotel offered the conference room free of charge.

All proceeds from the auction will go to the Hants County Christmas Angels, which supports families in need in the community.

Jean Ramey, from Windsor, said she’s “a sucker for ticket auctions” and wanted to help out however she could.

“I’ve been supporting Christmas Angels as long as its been going, before that Christmas Daddies,” she said. “My husband and I don’t have children of our own, so we help other children. That’s the main reason.”
