Welcoming the New Year's babies of Atlantic Canada
“A new baby is like the beginning of all things wonder, hope, a dream of possibilities,” American parenting educator and author Eda LeShan once wrote.

Donald Trump supporter Scott Baio — best known for playing Chachi on “Happy Days” — turned his attention to Mark Critch this morning in a Twitter burn.
Critch had commented on a tweet by American president-elect Donald Trump, who called Meryl Streep “one of the most over-rated actresses in Hollywood” after she spoke out against him in a speech at the Golden Globes Sunday night.
“She’s no Scott Baio,” Critch joked, quoting Trump’s comment.
“And you’re no Jay Leno, Tim Allen, Johnny Carson or even a Conan O’Brien. See how that works!,” Baio fired back.
“Burned by the man who caused the fire that burned down Arnold’s,” Critch sent back, referring to a 1980 “Happy Days” episode where Chachi is trusted to close Arnold’s diner for the night but forgets to turn off the grill and throws his apron on it. “It hurts.”
"When I was a kid growing up on Kenmount Road, I never would have thought that one day Chachi would be mad at me," Critch told The Telegram.
"Politics aside, I think if Scott Baio is comfortable being an entertainer and going on CNN and FOX to push for Trump during the election, he should be equally as comfortable with Meryl Streep criticizing her next president on an awards show. I know I'm no Johnny Carson. Trump may think Streep is overrated but I think Baio is rated correctly!"
