Savannah Hartt, Hannah Benedict score three apiece in Avalanche win

WINDSOR, N.S. — Hannah Benedict scored the Avon View Avalanche’s first three goals and Savannah Hart tallied the game’s final three goals Nov. 21 in a 7-1 rout of the Middleton Monarchs in a Valley High School Girls League game in Windsor.

The Avalanche held period leads of 2-1 and 5-1 and were actually scored upon first by the Monarchs before Benedict got on the scoreboard.

Haley Verge tallied the Avalanche’s fourth goal.

Amy McDade and Maddie Singer helped out offensively as well, both collecting three assists.

The Avalanche are now 2-0 on the season and head to Barrington Nov. 27 for an afternoon game with the 0-4 Barons.

Barrington is struggling this season as they have been outscored 30-2 in four games, so the Avalanche hope to improve their record to 3-0.

The Avalanche will host West Kings, who are also presently 2-0, Nov. 28 at the Hants Exhibition Arena.

Bridgetown is the only other undefeated team in the early stages of the 2016-17 season. They have a 3-0 record.
